What types of artwork can I buy from London Fine Art Gallery?
Explore original artworks, limited edition fine art prints and photography by Andrew Conway-Hyde. Each product page explains the artwork, available sizes and presentation options. [Browse the gallery].
What is the difference between an original artwork and a limited edition print?
A unique original is an individual physical work, such as a painting. A limited edition print is produced within a stated edition limit. It may reproduce a painting or be the intended form of a photographic or digitally created artwork. Check the product description to understand the work you are buying.
Do I need to know about art before buying?
No. Start with an artwork you enjoy looking at and would like to live with. Consider its colours, subject, atmosphere and scale. If you would like help choosing, contact us with the artworks you are considering and a little information about your space.
Can you help me choose an artwork for my room?
Please send us an enquiry with the available wall dimensions, your preferred style and any artworks you have shortlisted. A photograph of the room can also help explain the setting. [Contact the gallery].
Can I request more information or photographs before ordering?
Yes—please contact us with the artwork title and the details you would like to see. For an original painting, you might want to ask about the surface, edges, signature, condition or how it is presented.
Will the colours look exactly as they do on my screen?
Screens and lighting can affect how colours appear. Product images are a useful guide, but an exact match between your screen and the physical artwork cannot be guaranteed. If a particular colour is important to your decision, please ask for further information before ordering.
What does “limited edition” mean?
A limited edition has a stated production limit. Read the individual listing to confirm the edition size and whether the limit applies separately to each print size or format.
What does a number such as 7/25 mean?
It identifies the print as number 7 within an edition of 25. The number identifies a print in that edition; it is not a quality rating.
Does the edition limit cover every available size?
Not necessarily. Different sizes may have separate editions. Please check the description for your chosen size or ask us to clarify the edition structure before purchasing.
Are limited edition prints signed and numbered?
The gallery describes its limited edition prints as signed and numbered by Andrew Conway-Hyde. Check the individual product description for the details of your selected work, including how it is signed and numbered.
Will I receive a certificate of authenticity?
Where a certificate of authenticity is included, this should be stated in the product description. Please ask us if you would like confirmation before ordering. Keep your certificate with your invoice and any edition information supplied with the artwork.
Can I choose a particular edition number?
Please contact us before ordering if you would like a particular number. Availability must be confirmed and should not be assumed from the product photographs.
Are prints made using archival materials?
Check the materials specified on each product page. Where Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm and archival pigment inks are listed, these describe the paper and printing materials used for that product. Appropriate framing, handling and display remain important for its care.
What is Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm paper?
It is a cotton fine art paper with a matt printing surface and a lightly textured character. “308 gsm” describes its weight per square metre. It is a paper specification, not an edition size or a measure of print dimensions.
Which print sizes are available?
Available sizes vary by artwork and are shown on its product page. Select your preferred size before checking the price and adding the artwork to your basket.
Do the dimensions include the frame?
Please check whether the listing gives the image size, paper size or finished outside frame size. These measurements are different. If the artwork must fit a particular space, ask us to confirm the outside dimensions of your selected framed option before ordering.
Can I buy a print unframed?
Where an unframed option is listed, you can select it on the product page and arrange your own framing. Allow for framing costs and handling when comparing it with a framed option.
What frame colours can I choose?
Selected prints offer black, white and natural oak frames. Check the options available for your chosen artwork. Black provides a defined outline, white gives a lighter appearance, and natural oak introduces warmth and wood grain.
Will I receive the frame shown in the main photograph?
Your order should reflect the option you select. The main photograph may show one presentation among several available choices, so check your selected frame colour and order summary carefully before completing your purchase.
What is the difference between a window mount and a float mount?
A window mount overlaps the edges of the print. A float mount presents the sheet with its edges visible. Check the product description or ask us which mounting arrangement applies to your chosen artwork.
What glazing is used in framed prints?
The glazing specification depends on the product. Where Tru Vue UltraVue UV70 is listed, it is anti-reflective glass with up to 70% UV protection within the manufacturer’s stated testing range. It reduces reflections but does not provide complete protection against light damage. Avoid displaying artwork in direct sunlight.
Can I request a different size or frame?
Please contact us with your requirements before ordering. We can confirm whether an alternative is available and explain any effect on the price, edition or production time. A custom option should not be assumed unless agreed.
How do I place an order?
Open the artwork’s product page, choose the available size and framing options, and check the price and description. Add the selected artwork to your basket and follow the checkout instructions. Review the artwork, options and delivery address before paying.
Which payment methods do you accept?
The available payment methods are displayed at checkout. If you have a question about payment before placing an order, please contact us through the website.
Is the artwork ready to dispatch?
Availability varies. An original may already be available, while a print may require production and framing. Please check the listing and contact us if you need confirmation of the timescale before buying.
How long will my order take?
Timing depends on the artwork, whether printing or framing is required, and the delivery destination. Please ask for the expected production and delivery times for your selected item, particularly if you have a deadline.
Do you ship internationally?
The gallery offers worldwide shipping. Please confirm availability, delivery arrangements and charges for your destination and chosen artwork before ordering.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery costs depend on the selected artwork and its destination. Review the delivery information provided with your order, or contact us for clarification before payment.
Will I have to pay import duties or taxes?
For international orders, please check whether destination taxes, customs duties or handling charges may apply. Ask us to clarify what is included in your order and which charges, if any, would be payable separately.
Can you deliver in time for a birthday or another important date?
Please tell us your deadline before ordering so that we can confirm whether it is achievable. Printing, framing and shipping may each require time; do not assume a particular arrival date unless it has been confirmed.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact us as soon as possible with your order details. Whether a change or cancellation can be made will depend on the order’s status and the applicable terms. Please obtain confirmation before assuming that your request has been processed.
Can I return an artwork?
Please read our current [Returns and Complaints policy](https://newgallery.co.uk/returns-and-complaints/) for the applicable conditions and instructions. Contact us if you need clarification before ordering, especially for a personalised or commissioned work.
What should I do if my artwork arrives damaged or incorrect?
Contact us promptly with your order details, a description of the problem and clear photographs of the artwork and packaging. Keep the packaging while we review the issue and provide instructions for the next steps.
How should I unpack my artwork?
Prepare a clean, dry space and unpack carefully, avoiding contact with the printed or painted surface. Support framed pieces securely. If a print arrives rolled, ask a suitable framer to handle and flatten it rather than attempting to reverse-roll it yourself.
Where should I hang my artwork?
Choose a position away from direct sunlight, damp and strong fluctuations in temperature. Consider the artwork’s weight and your wall construction when selecting fixings. Large or heavy works may benefit from professional installation.
How do I care for an original painting or fine art print?
Care depends on the materials. Avoid touching the artwork surface and do not apply household cleaning products to it. Follow any care information supplied, and ask for advice specific to your piece if you are unsure. UV-filtering glazing does not remove the need for careful placement.
Which documents should I keep?
Retain your invoice, order confirmation, certificate of authenticity where supplied, and any edition or care information. Photographs of the artwork and its identifying details are also useful records.
Can I buy an artwork as a gift?
Yes. Consider the recipient’s taste, available wall space and whether a framed option would be more convenient. Contact us before ordering if you need to discuss delivery to a different address, a deadline or a special request.
Can I commission an original artwork?
Please contact the gallery to discuss your idea and confirm availability. Before a commission begins, agree the brief, dimensions, materials, price, timescale and approval process in writing.
Does buying an artwork give me the right to reproduce its image?
Buying the physical artwork does not automatically transfer copyright or permission to reproduce it commercially. Please seek permission from the rights holder before using the image in advertising, publications or products.
